The YMCA of Greater San Antonio is excited to offer a specialized swimming program designed to help all with special needs navigate aquatic spaces. This program tailors the teaching environment to each child's abilities, conditions, and goals. Swim instructors assess each participant's medical history, swim experience, and water safety skills, along with parent goals, to create personalized swim lessons.
• Adaptive swim lessons offered in a supportive group setting.
• Designed for children and youth with cognitive or physical disabilities.
• Focused on water safety, comfort in the water, and foundational stroke development.
• Led by nationally certified swim instructors.
*Prior to the start of the first lesson, a phone call by the aquatics department to set up a pre-meeting date in person.
